Conservatorship & Special Needs
For individuals who are incapacitated and lack estate plans, a court-appointed conservator may be needed to make medical and financial decisions.
We help establish conservatorships, and we advise and represent conservators before the probate court.
For clients with special needs, we provide advice and counsel on strategies for preserving benefits and avoiding or reducing Medi-Cal recovery. We have established first-party and third-party special needs trusts to preserve public benefits for clients, following the receipt of an inheritance or a personal injury settlement. We have also aided clients with jointing pooled special needs trusts.
